Does anybody know what refresh rates are supported by various 486 chipsets? The total capacity of the SIMM also seems to come into play with what refresh rate is supported.

I think some chipset sheets mention this, though I haven't found a comprehensive table. Maybe someone can spoon feed us the information. I don't really have motivation to thoroughly research this topic at the moment, nor do I anticipate such motivation being fostered anytime soon.

That is a matter of DRAM addressing. In general the "symmetric" addressing like 10 by 10, 11 by 11, and 12 by 12 should be better supported.
