Hello everyone. New member here.

Currently i a am using Win7 PC systems, but i have two older PCs (2001 and 2004 computers) that i will use to build one Retro-Gaming Win98 PC. I would appreciate any help for this build.

I will be playing games like Fallout 1/2/Tactics, AOE 1/2, Command & Conquer games, Unreal, Alien vs Predator and some more demanding games that work best in single CPU PCs, like Painkiller, and also need for speed games that i cannot run in Win7, like Underground 1/2 and Most Wanted.

PARTS:
Chassis: The case of my first PC that i would like to "rescue"
CPU: Intel 3.06GHz with HyperThreading.
Motherboard: The motherboard from he 2004 computer. I don't know brand name and model.
Memory: 2GB DDR400
HDD: 160GB
Cooler: Standard Intel
GPU: GeForce 6800 (i had a Sapphire X1300 but it fried)
PSU: I will get a new one
Optical Drive: Just an Optical Drive
Floppy Drive: Just a Floppy Drive
Sound Card: I do have one somewhere, i do not remember the name, but it works.

Why pig out over 512mb for Win98se?

Also you'll run into trouble with the lack of 48-bit LBA on a hard drive that large in Win98. There's supposedly a driver out there, but I don't trust any of them 😜

Finally, most of the games you listed are suitable for a XP machine (especially listing Need for Speed Underground 1/2 really set it beyond the Win98 era). Most of the games you listed will even run in Windows 7 x64.
