From the mid 90's, when everyone was developing their own 3D accelerator chipsets:

Samsung Electronics Co. (San Jose, CA) includes 3-D with Gouraud shading and texture mapping in its KS82C614A graphics controller. It has a 64-bit PCI bus interface. Samsung expects to find a market in PCs as well as set-top boxes, because of 3-D requirements in the latest games from Nintendo and Sega. The chip's 3-D capability is said to be usable for 3-D CAD as well. It supports frame buffers from 2 to 8 Mbytes using DRAM, video RAM, and Window RAM. Drivers are provided for Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and Windows NT, as well as OS/2 Warp, Autodesk ADI, and Microsoft Direct 3-D, Direct Draw, and Direct Video APIs. The KS82C614A is $440 each in lots of 100,000 and is available now.

Product name is: "Double Dragon" 😁

I don't remember ever hearing about this one, and it looks like we never did again after their press release. 😉

BRender claims to support it in their October 1996 website:

I'd be interested in any additional information.

I strongly doubt that, it's from late 1996 and doesn't appear that anyone used it. Anyhow, sent an email to Samsung Semiconductor Technical Support.

Found a couple of advertisements here, would be interested in seeing what they said:

I guess the price has accidentally additional zero, quantities are usually also stated at 10,000.

Possibly KS82C614A "Double Dragon" was Samsung's Talisman processor? Haven't checked the dates yet...

Found this tonight, though I'm not really sure what I'm looking at. Perhaps it was manufactured by Fairchild Semiconductor on behalf of Samsung, or perhaps they acquired it?

"BBIT MICOM" = 8-bit microcomputer?

Cool! A new thing to scour the internet for. 😁

Was anyone at Comdex in Chicago back in 1996 and do you remember booth W1628? 🤣

Stuff like this makes you wish there were youtubers back then, wandering around with cameras the way they do at tradeshows these days. It's possible that booth is the only place this card was ever seen publicly.

Mostly unrelated: I have several TeleVideo sound cards from back in the mid 90s and they seem very well made. Very decent DOS + OPL3 + wavetable (usually Crystal or QS700) sound cards. A 3D accelerator built by them would be nice to have.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

Well, I'll be damned.

This article (with a lot of oddball chip mentions) also mentions a a Samsung chip in the Televideo TeleGraphics 3D: https://www.osp.ru/pcworld/1997/05/157452

However, this seems to indicate it (or another card in its series) used S3 ViRGE:
