i have a pci diamond stealth 64 card but under windows it only seems to recognise it as 1 mb despite having the 2 additional memory chips (installed correctly)

its setup is the same as this:

is it normal for windows not to recongise the extra 1mb or are the memory chips bust?

Have you tried checking it out with benchmark or system information utilities, like System Speed Test (speedsys)? If all display the amount as 1MB, then the chips might be faulty. (Or maybe not compatible?)
