I just bought a copy of the Ultima collection online and the disc is full color like the logo on the box, then I saw that every other copy is a silk-screened yellow disc. Is the colorful one a fake?

Here's a page with the same CD. It might just be a regional variation depending on where the game was sold originally.

Thanks! I couldn't find any pictures to verify. I guess the color version could be the original and the yellow was released in the Classic Collection packaging like in this listing:

I think I have both versions of those on hand. (Fortunately the store where I bought the logo-only disc let me try it out before I bought it; I wasn't sure what it was when I saw it at first.)

Doesn't http://www.ultimacollectors.info/ have the details?

I have the ... I would call it orange ultima collections cd. It has the same image as yours but a deep orange colour.

Probably due to including it with stuff over and over again, the UC was probably made in more than one batch 😉
Might be interesting though to see how many different there were. Unfortunately the ultimate Ultima Collectors guide book is still in a moving box or I could look it up...

I must have glanced past that link. That is a very handy site. It even shows the discs of the different editions. I just thought the guide was cool because I like having physical things too.
