Evening everyone,

I don't know if it's a driver related issue but VESA mode (640x480) in DOS games isn't working for me, my monitor just turns off. 😢 I'm using the last official driver for the Rage Turbo.

It's not my monitor as anything else works just fine.

So many combinations to make, so few cases to put them in.

If you are using a TFT than I'd guess the refresh rate is out of sync.
I'd suggest something like VBEHz or UniRefresh, see VESA Fix Utility Listing (for old video cards)
Both tools need VBE 3.0, though, so you might have to use UniVBE or 64vbe in addition.

I'm going by memory here, but didn't you have to load a vesa driver called vvesa.com or vvesa.exe from ATI for the old ATI cards to support all the dos vesa modes?

can't seem to throw anything out...
