Just found this video on Youtube, which cycles through these three cards reproducing a song from Doom in both Adlib (OPL) and GM mode. The actual comparison starts about 20 seconds in.
Everyone says Ensoniq's FM synthesis using a wavetable is terrible. This is the first video I've seen which clearly demonstrates how terrible it really is... and how decent its GM is instead. Also, the Thunderboard is like a half-step flat on that bass warble!
