Once I get this 486 going again, I'm interested in running some benchmarking software to see how it performs. What is everyone out there using?

Yes these are commonly used...

You can also use the shareware version of Doom and Quake for

DOOM -timedemo demo3

And quake has also a timedemo, but you launch it from within the game.

Remember that using a sound card greatly affects such benchmarks.

quake's sound code is rather optimized, but in any case you could start with -nosound.

Also to ease up the Quake benchmarking you can just have this to get directly to the same video settings even:

quake.exe +scr_conspeed 9001 +timedemo demo1 +viewsize 100 +vid_mode 0 -nosound

Also....
quake.exe +scr_conspeed 9001 +viewsize 100 +vid_mode 0 -nosound +map start +wait +wait +wait +wait +wait +wait +wait +wait +timerefresh +wait +timerefresh +wait +timerefresh +wait +timerefresh +wait +timerefresh +toggleconsole

😁

I think gameticks are always the same number and realticks changes.
