I'm trying to fasten a DB50XG onto a sound card's Waveblaster connector but the daughter board is too big for such a short card. Can someone recommend a method of creating an extension cable?

So what I need is this for a cable:

One of these to replace the one end:

And this to crimp it?

I don't need to strip the wires from the one end after I cut it, right? I just crimp right through?

Why would you need to replace one end? The daughterboard's connector is female. That RasPi GPIO extender is perfect for the task, as it won't screw up the pin order like trying to use a female-female ribbon cable solution.

Also, you don't need a special tool to crimp IDC plugs, a bench vice will do the trick.

That doesn't work for the YMF718 cards as the DB is physically taller than the host sound card, and will actually prevent you inserting the sound card into the ISA slot.

My problem exactly. I'm going to use velcro strips to secure it to the back of the PCI card. Easy. Secure. Detachable!
