I.e. not very well. 😜

Nah, I kid, once patched up it's pretty good.

Out of pure curiosity: what kind of actual problems exist in this matter? I've been playing Sierra stuff since 1990, and can't remember a single issue.

If you have a Creative card you likely never had any issues.

But if you do you could have looping digital sound for example.

Little Big Adventure / Relentless is a piece of shit concerning any sound card, really (despite being a really-really good game otherwise). It also has multiple issues with many DOS4GW versions, and other DOS4GW-compatible extenders. The best result I had was with DOS4GW 2.0a and GUS ACE (ISA ESS688 is a no-go).

SQ4 CD works perfectly with any ISA SB-compatible card, just like every DOS Sierra game. Note that I don't use "PNP" Blasters and PCI soundcards. You shouldn't either. Never go above SB Pro 2.

Agree, Bought WS32 Oksori sound card $200 in 1995 but Little Big Adventure never sounds until I disposed my first 486.

Other than what mau1wurf said, Sierra SCI1 games are pretty notorious for speed problems (The sand skimmer and dripping acid sequences in SQ1VGA spring to mind, and the intro sequence of SQ4), and more than a few have issues where entering a certain screen in certain circumstances will hang the game (LSL1VGA for instance, entering the casino for the first time). A lot of the latter are patched out in all but the 0-day floppy release though, so they're uncommon to see in the wild I think. The speed issues are more common, but thanks to having the Internet you can fix them easy enough.
