Does anybody knows whats the smallest game that runs on a XT computer that uses the MT 32??
Because the game needs to fitt on a 1.44MB floppy for easier transfer from main computer to the XT one.

This is because i want to test if the MPU-IPC-T interface card would work also the MT-32 Midi device..

The game could also be a shareware or demo.. I only needed it to test the roland devices..

~ At least it can do black and white~

There is a list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_MT-32-co … _computer_games and plenty of the games are under 1.44MB. For example take first (from the end) - Zool (you can find shareware version at http://www.classicdosgames.com).

Edit: Argh. You meant "game that runs on a XT". My bad. Then go for Prehistorik and Prince of Persia (I had it both running on my 286 12MHz/1MB RAM/mono display).

Overkill supports the mt-32 , is small and offers CGA/EGA/VGA modes... don't know about XT support though

I tried it with overkill.. Its seems it runs on de V20 processor, but it was a little bit slow.. I think you need at last a PC AT compatible computer for it.. Only the connect from MT-32 to speakers isnt great..

Iam using a big phone jack convertor to small phone jack.. I probability could better use a big phone jack to RCA converter.. Because that connection is more sturdy..
It seems the roland MT-32 works fine on overkill.. I got really addicted with this game with mt-32 music on.. I got so addicted that i played all 6 levels done..

I have another roland MPU-IPC-T card here.. I like this card very much because of manual IRQ setting.. The IRQs on my XT where almost used.. So i had only one left i guess.
I think iam going try an other game out. Like the roland MT-32 very much on this old V20 XT compatible machine so i can highly recommend one to have!.
Only have to order some connector for it..
Thanks for the help..

Can any tell me why this mt-32 have 2 volumes?? I know the master volume is important.. But what does the other one do?

You can also hook an XT up to another PC with a LAN card or LapLink cable (INTERSRV on host, INTERLNK on client). That is how I play lots of games on my 8086 / V30 with LAPC-I and MPU-IPC-T without any true game size restriction. Works great.
