I'm currently rebuilding my 486 system and I want to use a 4x SCSI CD-ROM drive from June 1995 to stay more period correct and to increase performance. The problem is that I have one ISA SCSI card from Adaptec currently being used in my 386 and a VLB SCSI card which I don't have a free slot for (the two slots on my board is taken by the VLB video card and the 3D Blaster). I'm using IDE for connecting another OEM CD-ROM and harddrive.

I have a broken Soundblaster CT1770 laying around. It outputs only sound from the left channel and the sound is of very poor quality. The SCSI interface howeever works flawlessly. So anyone have any experience with using two Soundblaster 16 cards in the same machine? I will be using a CT2230 for sound and midi. The CT1770 I only plan on using the SCSI interface part to connect the CD-ROM. Is it only to set the jumpers differently on the two cards and then use the BLASTER line to call the CT2230? There won't be any conflicts?

Another option is ofc to buy another ISA SCSI card.

Yes I think so.
Some ISA cards can be set to "no resources" if you remove the jumpers in the specific field, but the CT1770 decodes also open/open for the base port.
This usually only works for cards where you move a jumper in a row for different Port or IO settings.
