Help! I got some a lot of 3 radeon 9600 SE cards off ebay. I WANTED one in a tyan trinity 400 system..... that's an apollo pro chipset. I drop the card in and..................... nothing. No beeps, no POST, no nothing.

At first I though the cards were bad. Then I tried them in on an ASUS A7V600 board... and no problem.

But here is the funny part.... I used to use a Radeon9600 (not the SE version) with that same board and it worked fine. What gives? Did the SE cards come later and will only work in 8X AGP boards?

A fast google search gives back results for 9600SE/Pro being only AGP8x. (they both are the older RV350 core)

Which means nothing, cause both 4x/8x are 1.5V and cards/boards should be compatible - it was more of a marketing back then to put AGP 8x on your products (I remember it on every Gigabyte's chipset cooler)

Have you checked the AGP slot of your MB with another card (now, not before)?
