Doing my Optiplex GX200 build right now. I'm copying drivers and whatnot to my second drive and I'm wondering if I should go ahead and just use the on-board TNT2-M64 or the Radeon 7200 SDR that I have. I know the TNT2 drivers are rock solid under 98, but I've never used anything better than a Rage128 under win98 on the ATI side of things.

Thoughts?

Radeon = no paletted textures or table fog.
TNT2 = no paletted textures.

Also in terms of 16-bit color, TNT2 has some fake-ish patterned dithering (with a highly noticable pattern), and the Radeon has options for either error diffusion or ordered dithering.

All depends on the game really. That's not to say the Radeon is a bad choice - maybe good for those T&L gamesy games like Opflash and Max Payne.

Of course the Radeon SDR is much faster. Similar to a GeForce 256. And Radeon has its fast anisotropic filtering.

It's also faster at GUI, and has much better video playback hardware.
