I have started to think about these two boards seriously (originally bought them dirt cheap only to sell them online).
At first i had an idea to make an Dual Athlon MP computer with AMD Athlon MP 2600+, but that failed hard when two of the boards i had turned out to be defective and killing one of 3 processors.
Since i like the idea of dual processor i considered to max out one of the two boards TUV4X or P2B-DS for use with Yamaha SW1000XG, DS2416, Terratec EWS64XXL.
I am thinking dual processor and Windows XP/2000 because of more juice in computing power over single processor, but than again Windows 98SE has much more support for applications and stuff for all of these sound cards but it doesnt support Dual CPU.

I already got a hang of one PowerLeap adapter for Pentium III-S for the P2B-DS (Version 1.06), and am thinking of selling TUV4X to get money for the other, and swapping my two Athlon MP 2600s for two PIII-S 1.4GHz.
Graphics card wouldnt matter much probably as i intend to use this PC for audio only, but i might try a few games such as Unreal Tournament 99 and Half Life vanilla with Voodoo 5 5500, but other than Voodoo i am considering an Radeon 9600/9700 or some NVidia equivalent (since P2B-DS has only AGP 2x).

So pretty much my question is, which of the following two would be better for a little gaming and some sound editing/MIDI?
I would probably move onto an more powerful newer processor (P4 or Xeon) just for Yamaha cards latter.

2 is ALWAYS better than one. End of story.

if dual P3 isnt powerful enough, there is the dual 462 as the "next step up" http://www.tyan.com/archive/products/html/thunderk7xpro.html

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Glad somebody shares the same idea 😁
Tyan is very rare here as far as I've seen for socket 462, thats one of the reason why i am giving up on the dual Athlon MP project.
I am still trying to decide with what to go with...

Interesting, I will remain here to see details 😉

As written elsewhere, with regard to the dual CPU experience, I'm testing 2x PIII 800EB on an ASUS CUV4X-D - I wanted to take this opportunity to experiment a bit with the old BeOS or Haiku.
