Prepared my Intel Neptune board for testing today. Complete the way it was sold in 1994, with a P75 and 2x 8 mb fast-page RAM.

I have a similar board, need to replace/mod the Dallas RTC because it is empty.

Pretty sure it's on mine as well. Don't care that much, however, as I only want to do a function test. It's not going to be used for the time being.

My AT to PS/2 keyboard adapter still hasn't arrived. So I rigged this up while I wait:

And when I can't be arsed to move my (only) gotek from one machine to the other, everyone needs to share:

But seriously, I just got home with a LITERAL truckload of stuff. I'd post a link to the craigslist ad, but the seller pulled it down. Basically it started as 8-10 IBM XT class machines and 10 boxes of parts. He sold off some choice parts to people unknown, but had a bunch left. The ad was up for almost a month, so I contacted him and long story short he practically gave me everything. When I showed up I also got 4 apple IIe systems and 2-3 boxes of parts for those.

I AM SO TIRED!

so in the next day or so, I'm going to catalog everything. I'll post pictures in a separate thread. I'm going to resell most of this. The arrangement I have, I give him 40% of everything I sell. There were like 3 boxes of hard drives old MFM drives, so if you need one keep your eyes on ebay, I'll be testing them and putting them up for cheap.

The systems themselves are going to mostly be parts machines. The monitors are smashed up, but mostly still work. So I'm going to target people who need working parts to fix existing machines.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

Well, in the 1st post I said I had to sell what I can. and he gets 40%. He literally helped me load my truck, and unload it at my place. All with no money down. I'm going to do right by him. There is like 30 hard drives, I'm going to test what I can, sell it for cheap (well i'll start most listings at 9.99 with a reasonable BIN) The apples are mostly parts machines. People always need keycaps, spare switches, replacement motherboards, etc.

this is going to take MONTHS. I will likely sell parts here, VCF and ebay. But is anyone has any requests...

Oh, I looked in box #4. brand new 286, PC,XT,AT motherboards. and a PCI multi I/O card. Why mention a pci I/O card? it has space for FLOPPY disks. Oh this one will be fun. ^.^

Finally figured out why my ESS Audiodrive 1869 wasn't working with Tyrian 2000, despite having no issues with it on the same machine before a windows re-install.

Turns out last time I didn't install the gameport driver properly and that actually made the games music work.

After disabling the port Turian 2000 sounds as good as ever 😎

Soldered on the new jacks and re-soldered the volume potentiometer last night on my Aztech Sound Galaxy NX Pro since the Line-In and Mic jacks didn't work anymore, and it was a success (hopefully).

Going to do a smoke test today when I get home so that way I can truly test the sound card to see if the jacks work again. Good thing I purchased the electrical flux (no-clean) for the soldering and re-flowing the solder to make the connection secure.

I'm a retard and let one of those slip from my possession a ways back.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
