I'm currently configuring my Dell Dimension 4100 to be able to run DOS games and see what I get. The OS I'm running is Windows 98SE with Service Pack 3.33 installed. The problem is that upper memory reserved is very limited especially when turning EMS on which I REALLY want. So, I've used the monochrome memory block, which is I=B000-B7FF, to get the least of the memory since it's never used at all on a machine like this. And with this, I can do DOS just fine, but Windows 98SE refuses to load normally (Was able to get into safe mode). I've tried other memory blocks, used HIGHSCAN, used FRAME=C800, and changed video cards, but to no avail. Any suggestions?

You shouldn't modify Windows startup files because you need something changed for DOS.

You really want to keep the two separate.
