For some weird reason, my ATH XP 2000+ runs slower than my ATH 1.33GHz.. I noticed when I fired up some browser and moved the window around.
also, noticing some lag in 3D games like Q2, CS and Unreal.
is this a problem with the install? I took the HD from a Compaq Deskpro 1GHz PIII to the ATH XP 2000+, then ATH 1.33GHz
p.s: I noticed this in 7 starter when I used the internet.

at what fsb are each running?
are you sure you are not using the onboard ProSavage?

FSB on both is 266MHz
GPU confirmed for 8500DV on both

Is it slower on actual benchmarks, or is it just a "seems slower" when moving windows/scrolling and such?
I'd run something like 3DMark 2000 and see what kind of results that gave, just to get an idea.
Athlon and Athlon XP are way too alike for the older CPU (lower clocks) to be faster than the newer one unless there's some kind of incompatibility with the motherboard or something similar I would think.

WinXP : PIII 1.4GHz, 512MB RAM, 73GB SCSI HDD, Matrox Parhelia, SB Audigy 2.
Win98se : K6-3+ 500MHz, 256MB RAM, 80GB HDD, Matrox Millennium G400 MAX, Voodoo 2, SW1000XG.
DOS6.22 : Intel DX4, 64MB RAM, 1.6GB HDD, Diamond Stealth64 DRAM, GUS 1MB, SB16.

It's better, just needed to update the firmware.
Strange how that happened..
p.s I'm posting from that machine right now.
