I think i've seen in a magazine, where a daughterboard (the size of a Roland or DB50XG) was attached to a soundcard (Monster Sound MX200 I'm sure) using a band of some sort.

Nylon PCB spacers. I found that 10.5mm length works fine. e.g. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291166141865
