Following my other threads about my two 486 rigs I built. I would like to get the best settings to get these two working as fast as possible.
I am mainly looking at ram timing, cache config, shadow, etc. Nothing for the HDD's as they are already fast enough.

I'm open to overclocking too.

First rig
CPU : AMD 486DX4/100 NV8T
Mobo : MB-8433UUD-A
256kb 20ns Cache
There's a controller just for the FDD. The onboard FDD controller is not working
Video : Cirrus Logic 5446 PCI + Voodoo2 12MB
Sound : Soundblater 16 PnP (Vibra16 chipset) + GUS Max 1.8 + MT-32 + SC88 Pro
HDD : Irrelevant, I don't want to tune that.

Second Rig
CPU : Cyrix 5x86-100GP
256kb 20ns Cache
Mobo : VL/I-486SV2GX4 2.0
Video : Cirrus Logic GD54xx VLB
Controller : Cache controller with 4MB RAM, don't remember the brand right now.
Network : 3COM Etherlink III ISA
Sound : Opti Based K2Y-PRO16
Sorry, no Pic of the rig. 🙁
HDD : CF-Card (4Gb)

IBM DTLA 3070XX are the notorious Deathstars. I'm surprised yours has lasted this long.

Edit: Ok, I read it wrong, that's not the installed drive.

Account retired. Now posting as Errius.

My suggestion is to put the Cyrix 5x86 100 in the PCI board and overclock it to 120MHz using 2x60. Use faster cache if needed.
