I have an Aztech combo modem/sound card from an old packard bell. I found Windows 95 drivers easily but can't find any drivers for dos and win 3.1. Can I use a generic Aztech isa sound card driver or sb 16 driver or are the real dos/win3.1 drivers hidden somewhere? If there are no drivers for this card its no big deal as I have other sb 16s to use.

I have the same problem. I would need DOS setup.

To reply to the poster asking for the FCC ID: I38-MMSN843 (the first digit could be a 1, but I think it's an "I").

It would help if you told us exactly which Aztech card it is - the FCC ID is generally a good identifier.

More likely than not you'll find the driver you need here:

I edited my post to include the FCC ID. Sorry for not including it originally.

Take a look here:
https://ilovepa.ws/2017/06/08/aztech-sound-cards/

I38-MMSN843 maps to the "Packard Bell 030106"

That doesn't help a lot, but then you find this topic:
Help to Identify Aztech ISA Sound Card

Looks like you should try the 'SG Pro16 II (2nd)' driver from that link I gave.

FWIW, I think the PB internal code name for the card was the 'Rocky II' - referring to the Rockwell modem chipset.

If you mean the large ZIP file with all the Aztech drivers, there is no SG Pro16 II. The closest I can find is SG Pro16L. Is that the same as SG Pro16 II (2nd)"?

EDIT: I think I've found it, in a directory called "P26II". Though the reported FCC ID isn't the same, the one in that directory is I38-MMSN845, mine is I38-MMSN843

You won't find drivers for your specific card as it's a PB special with drivers theoretically available via PB (and even then you probably only got the Win9x drivers on the MasterCD). What you want is drivers for a card with the same chipset. The 845 also has an AZT2316R, so is a very likely candidate. Give that a a try 😀

I shall do so. I want to mention that my card is some huge fax-modem and soundcard combo. It is enormous (for a soundcard).

I downloaded the Packard Bell ftp archive from archive.org a while ago.

Did a search and found the Aztech related files and uploaded them to my Google Drive:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1cWjQ_Hk132K … 7_ivARRRQ0418RJ

No Windows 3.x drivers though.

However, if you look at the old Aztech site, and look under Audio Telephony 2000 Boards, I think one of those drivers should definitely work.
http://web.archive.org/web/19970606070547/htt … es.html#generic

The ftp link of course will be dead, but you should be able to find it by doing a search for the file names. Probably show up on DriverGuide:
https://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=748

And look.. there is an archive of the Aztech ftp... or maybe somebody from Aztech kept it up:

Yes, that's what the Rockwell chipset is for, hence Rocky-II. However if you only want sound that doesn't matter, it's just two different devices connected to the ISA bus on the same card. The sound part of the card works the same as a smaller sound-only card with the same chipset.
