My new build, is finished. I amed at an as-close-as-possible-99-build.
The motherboard is the Intel VC-820 that I bought some time ago.
Intel Pentium-III, running at 500 mhz, 100 mhz FSB.
It has 256 megabyte of Samsung pc-800 RD-Ram, with heatsinks.
TNT2 Ultra, AGP with 32 megabyte of memory.
A-Open 90's case. Sadly stamped 2000, yet it has been reviewed as early as 98.
Some generic lan (one of the few non-99 things)
Creative SB-Live, from 98.
Samsung 40 gig PATA drive, jumped to a 32 gigabyte drive.
A clean 300 Watt Codegen PSU, in good condition (never 100% trusting PSU's from 90's)
It is running with just a basic Win98SE install right now, as drivers and software are next.
Now, for the pictures. 😜
The clip on the backside of the cooler, took up too much space.
I used cable ties, in order to get it to fitt next to the cap's.
Closeup of the cabletie-mod.
The motherboard with the CPU and Mem installed.
The case have arrived, dusty and dirty. Yet in good condition of it's age.
Sadly.... Case stamped 2000. 🙁
Some damage/scuff-marks to the top of the case.
All cleaned up... Now the build can begin.
The case is ready to take some hardware. 😀
Clean case...
Front panel, cleaned up and ready.
Mounting screws the same, on both sides... For the looks of it.
Now with drives.
Selecting the right size and height of copper spacers.
Selecting the right screws for the motherboard.
Motherboard in place, time for some more hardware.
Cards in place, moving on.
Cable management.
Even more cable management, looking good enough.
Completed the build. Just have to swap the HDD for a Samsung.
All finished. Time to play. 😜
Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....
