Why do the Voodoo3 3000 PCI cards found on ebay, list for such higher price than a Voodoo3 3000 AGP version?

Because a lot fewer pci versions were made and supplies started to dry up during the Amiga craze some years back and now what is left is highly sought after as people are also resorting to cheaper or newer boards that lack the use of an 3.3v agp slot. The pci versions are more valuable as they can be used with a wider range of systems from pre agp socket 5/7 all the way to 478/socket A ect.

Glad that I able to get two of them last year at low prices and they are worth between $50 to $60 each but prices are likely to continue their rise.

I see. Makes sense. What was the Amiga craze?

Basically people with older Amigas buying PCI backplane upgrades to use Workbench OS 3.9 or 4.0+ and needing a supported PCI video card. Voodoo 3/4/5's were snagged for this purpose.

My Voodoo3 3000 PCI is so under utilised in a Cyrix 5x86-133/4x system. I bought the card in box for around $30 and that was only 4 years ago. A great investment!
