dr.zeissler,

Very nice, especially with the PCX2. I've been wanting one of those for awhile now, but can't justify the cost. Since I'd really only use it for MechWarrior II, I especially can't justify the cost.

Why not stick with the Voodoo 1? It's more compatible than the Voodoo 2 and still a very good match for the P2-300.

Voodoo2 is faster and has a better image quality and afaik there are only very view games that will not work with it.
Because I go from V3-3000 down to a Riva128 or Matrox G200/400 I still need a good 3dfx-acceleration (glide)
therefore the Voodoo1 is not the best choice so I'll go for the voodoo2. Hopefully the three 3D-Cards will work
together.

I think I own one PCX1 and two PCX2 but I am not 100% sure about that.
I also own a quantum-obsidian(v2) but it produces some texture failures after some time. Perhaps it's getting too hot, I don't know.

I installed a voodoo1 because the voodoo2 did not work properly. the voodoo1 seems to work fine.
I installed a 8MB G200 Matrox and the matrox_m3d. The g200 seems to be a 2D card most 3d-stuff
does not work. But the card has a nice sharp image and fantastic colors.

I went back to the V3 and V1 config. It's absolutly stunning, how much performance you can get out of a voodoo3 with that small CPU-Power.
I'am currently using a PII/333 (dA0) that can be clocked between 133 and 333 Mhz, currently I have chosen 233Mhz.

I also changed the catweasel-controller from ISA to MK4pls-Version. Next thing is putting the SID-Chip in it and playing some nice tunes with
a real SID in my Retro-PC 😀

For the PCX1/2 a PII clocked at 133-333 is not fast enough to get stable and high enough frames, so I got back to a voodoo1.

So you have many main computers and system, wondering how you use them, in the same time, on there is main computer for every week day, or monthly...

The main system is used most of the time, but I need those others for things that do not work good on that system.
Older Dosgames run better on 386/486 or even 286/xt, later stuff is better on P3/4 with Pixelshader-Gfx.
The PII is a good compromise between the other worlds.
