Argh! really difficult. I can't reproduce the working audio cd-tracks. Actually it does not work, but it worked earlier.
What I can say is that when I mount the Mixed-Mode CD from Outcast (CD2) that includes the Audio-Tracks and start
the Game I can hear no Audio-CD playback. BUT! when I press "ctrl-<>" in order to switch between running applications
and go from fullscreen game to Win98se Desktop I can hear the Audio-CD Playback!!! The volume can be changeg by the
"wav-slider", if I switch back to the game the Audio-CD playback is gone and I only hear the sfx.

It has worked (Audio-CD-Playback with in the Game) before. Any idea why?

Yesterday I changed the PII-333 to a Celeron 400. The Benches show, that the Celeron is faster. (About 10-20% depending what application/game)
I'll go for the fastest slot-celeron 433, but it's not easy to get. The maximal CPU for my board is the celeron 533/S370 with Slotket-Adapter.
Perhaps this thing will be nearly as fast as a PIII-500.

With the installed Celeron some Games/Demos do not run, that worked with the PII-333 before. I am not sure if it is the additional 66 Mhz or the
much faster CPU-Cache of the Celeron. Interesting is, that some games/demos that do not work under plain Dos, work under Win98se Dos-Window (not Dosbox).

But some Games/Demos require booting Dos in order to work... I will have to make additional tests.

I'd say just go for a slocket and the fastest s370 Mendocino Celeron you can get, they shouldn't be hard to find for a good price.
Another thing is you could use a PIII and underclock it (don't know if your board supports Coppermines though, that would make things easier).

Whats missing in your collections?

The Board has these limitations:

- PII Slot1 up to 333/66
- Celeron Slot1 up to 433/66
- Celeron S370 with slotket up to 533/66
- No FSB 100/133, no PIII

I currently use a slot celeron 400/66 because it's passive and silent.
The s370-slotket is ugly noisy and instable (mounting)

I think I will get my Celeron 433 SL3BC these days. Then the machine is maxed out as a slot1 machine with the known limitations.
I always thought that there are only a view Intros/Cracktros for the PC as were known for the homecomputers, but I found an
archive (not pouet) that has lots of it. I currently checking my machine (Celeron 400/DX61) with it. After that, I will also check
earlier machines with it, because some stuff has the wll known TP-Bug.

Has someone tested the optimal configurations for the dos-fullscreen setting under Win9x?
In case of CPU-Speed-Sensitive Games/Demos what should be the best one?
Is it better to slowdown Win9x itself, or only the Dos-Fullscreen-Mode of Win9x?

The Siemens case looks awesome. I remember playing Dune2000 on my school's Siemens-Nixdorf machine (I live in Russia), but I'm yet to see one available for sale here now.

My first attempt to create "scene-stuff" with a demotool. Please let me know what you think. It was really fun to play with it. The music and the gfx belong to their creators. I had to upgrade to DX7 but stayed with the voodoo3 driver that is dx6.1 optimized. It was created within 30 minutes.

Currently I am "creating" some Intros with the oldest Version os OSDM. The oldest Version of this tool works on my to DX7a Upgraded Win98SE.
With DX61 the tool does not work. The Voodoo3 drivers are still DX61 drivers.
In the oldest Version using the Logo features (animation) does not work. I get no logo ore a white image. So I decided not to use the "logo-features"
and only let the Logo displayed without any animation/effects.
I changed both. I upgraded DX up to DX9 and the Voodoo3 drivers up to DX7, but the problem with the Logo-Effect is still there.

Using the oldest Version of ODSM limits a lot, but it is really fun to play with this excellent tool.

Demos/Intros that were created by others mostly do not work on my system. I don't know why (perhaps thy do not use fullscreen, and my Voodoo3
works only in Fullscreen.

Here are the links and lots of stuff created with it, so feel free to test it out for yourself. I do not have any experiences before, but I managed to
created something with that tool in less then one hour.

OldVersion that I use with my system (signature) with DX7/Win98SE

About the Voodoo3:
Set your desktop to 16-bits. It should be able to accelerate windowed apps then. It does not feature hardware acceleration in 32-bit modes.
