So I'm sure everyone has seen the headlines on sites like Slashdot - apparently it's 20 years old today. I haven't fired up a copy for a long time myself but I remember using it for the first time. It was probably a copy (it was much easier back then before activation came along). After using Windows 3.1 for years, 95 was incredible to me. But the most significant thing I remember was DirectX. The first game I ever saw in Windows (I dual booted to DOS for gaming, strictly) was something called The Hive and I just remember thinking "Games in Windows? That'll never catch on. Nice try M$".
How wrong was I.
But then look at us now.
