Although not hardware related, something that I had downloaded from McAfee Associates' dialup BBS way back in the day... the McAfee "X-1" spaceship/starfighter wallpaper :)

I've seen threads and other pages that do a good job of gathering together drivers and other utilities for vintage computers, and these are quite handy for us collectors. But, one thing I've yet to see is a place that has vintage OEM desktop wallpapers. Yes, I imagine there's significantly less demand for wallpapers than drivers, but for those of us who wish our vintage systems to be as close to factory original as possible yet lack the official OEM install/recovery media, the missing OEM wallpapers would be a nice touch. Thus, I thought I'd try to see if we could get a sort of OEM wallpaper repository going here, where people could post what OEM wallpapers they have and request what they are wanting.

I'll start off by sharing the only OEM wallpapers I currently have, from an IBM Aptiva E175 circa 1999.

Next, I'll make a request. I'm wanting the OEM wallpaper for a Compaq Presario 2200 desktop. Here's a screenshot from a YouTube video of what I'm wanting:
CompaqWallpaper.png
I don't know if this is the only OEM wallpaper for the Presario 2200 or not. At the very least, I'd like this one if anyone happens to have it.

In any case, feel free to share what OEM wallpapers you have. Let's try to get as much of it together as we can, and help dress up our vintage systems in their original visual glory if we so desire. Thank you.

If anyone has DEC Personal Workstation wallpapers that'd be great.
Voodoo2s aren't 100mhz stock
Geforce256 isn't released as a beta on New Years '99 under the Quadro brand
DOS gaming isn't a bilinear 320x200 16:10
DOS PCs aren't better than the Macintosh
DOSBox is not for running Windows 9x
SGL != Glide

I never had an OEM PC (every single one was/is a home build) and the only one in the household was my uncle's 1991 Packard Bell Legend which had no OEM wallpapers. But I have an old PB Restore CD from around 1993-1994 that I browsed through and found a few wallpapers that I believe qualify:

Quality and size on these wasn't great (640x480x8bpp); then again, these were meant for Win3.x desktops back then.
Damn! These alien bastards are gonna pay for shoving their fetishes in my game.
But for now, Shake It Baby!

On a similar note, I try to keep copies of default operating system fonts, mouse pointers, icons, wallpapers, sounds and etc. Even if I don't use them all I still find it comforting to use BeOS mouse pointers, NextSTEP window decorations, Windows95 icons at the same time...on Linux...

Hi guys. I've made quite a few retro themed wallpapers for my retro rigs, showcasing brands and product box art and stuff, and I thought I'd share. They are cobbled up from badges, logos, box art, parts of official and unofficial wallpapers and advertising materials. Some of the stuff here is just old wallpapers scaled up or down to fit both 4:3 and widescreen resolutions.

If you have any retro-pc themed wallpapers, plese feel free to share them on this thread.

Images are hosted at IMGUR. The pics below will take you to IMGur where you can download the full-size image:

those are kick-ass. Great material for some new custom wallpapers.

If you guys want any CPU "stickers" added to any of the wallpapers in the first post, just let me know. I still have the .pdf files for all of them.

Here's a few I also made (except the second one).

One I made for my Packard Bell Platinum 55:

The original that inspired the one above, taken from the Packard Bell Master Disc:
