Hello friends pc retro graphics have several vga pci I want to extend a Trio64V s3 + 1 mega 2 megabytes
I also want to extend a S3 Virge / dx 2 megabytes to 4 megabytes
and Cirrus Logic gd / 5440 of 1 mega 2 megabytes
I am willing to sacrifice some vga removing the memory modules to expand other
Please I need your help as I find problems makes me ????

Some years ago I tried to expand memory of a S3 Virge DX from 2mb to 4mb with no luck. For that test I sacrified one card memories to use in other identical card expansion sockets, and it didn't work at all.
But I can't assure I did this properly, as I didn't have the technical skills of today 🤣 🤣

Unless the cards are broken beyond repair I'd be against sacrificing them, but in any case, it should work as long as the chips are the correct type. One way to be really safe is to match the part numbers so the added memory chips should match the ones soldered to the board.
