ZIP 100 and 250 drives? And I shouldn't have a problem with a 386SX16 with a 3.5, 5.25 floppy drives all together in the same system? Also, how much better is Windows 3.0 vs DOS Shell?

Windows 3.11, AFAIK, also does not have nor needs drivers for ZIP drives. Both 3.0 and 3.11 rely on DOS to access ZIP drives. Just install the DOS drivers and it will work on Windows 1/2/3/3.11.

Be very careful if you are using an external zip drive. Some are made for SCSI and some are made for parallel port and the connectors are mechanically the same but not electrically the same. Confusing the two would result in damage to the drive, the computer, or both.

Here's a photo of the two for comparison

download the drivers and have a peak http://files.mpoli.fi/hardware/HDD/IOMEGA/
you can veiw the contents of each file on this page http://files.mpoli.fi/unpacked/hardware/hdd/iomega/

palmzip is by far the best driver for a lpt-zip.

Thanks a bunch! I'll try those drivers out once I get my hands on a 386SX 16 someday and have fun playing with the slowest 32-bit PC ever! 😁

386SX is certainly the slowest CPU that can run 386 enhanced mode, but Windows 3.0 can also be used in standard or real mode enabling it to work on an 80286 or 8088/8086.
Also, you should be able to run Windows 3.x from a Zip floppy.

Just picked up my 386SX 16 tower today! 😁 Has 3.2megs of ram and a 125mb hard drive. I can't wait to test this baby out sometime! Here's what it looks like:

IIRC, there was a tool suite for both DOS and Windows (Iomega Tools?) included when we bought our first ZIP-drive back in the 1990s, that had very little differences between the Windows and MS-DOS version (beyond the user interface). Don't know whether the Windows version works on Windows 3.0, but you didn't need it to use the ZIP drive - you do need the DOS driver.

Windows 3.x didn't include any drivers for technology that was not yet developed when it was in development...

Toobox for Zip, yes. Looks like Archive.org has it:
