I am putting together a nice older build computer. This is a Peak 610 Industrial computer that I'm converting into a little old home theater PC. So far, I have had good luck with Windows 98 SE and Windows 2000 Professional except web browsing. I suppose if I want to browse the web I'll just need to use old versions of Firefox or Internet Explorer, or upgrade to Windows XP.
Specifications:
2x Intel PRO 10+ NIC
Yamaha OPL3-SAx
Pentium Pro 200Mhz 256KB
Voodoo 3 3000 PCI
Voodoo TV 200 PCI
10GB and 160GB Hard Disk Drive
Lite-on CDROM drive
Custom USB header (need to fix this up a bit)
144MB IBM/Kingston(I think it's Kingston I could be wrong) memory.
Planned upgrades:
I plan to upgrade the sound card to a Sound Blaster Live or Sound Blaster AWE64 Gold. I also plan to upgrade the video from Voodoo 3 3000 to Voodoo 5 5500, which is expensive. In addition; I want to add some audio input/output which I can do with TerraTec hardware for recording on Cool Edit Pro.
Here you can see my Voodoo TV 200 PCI working well in Windows 2000 providing me with some television. I really love that video card. It seems pretty rare, and it works great.
That's a Cornerstone p1500 85Hz 1600x1200 Professional monitor!
Here you can see the guts of my system. There are 14 total expansion slots, so I have plenty of room to add cards.
Here you can see the front. I'll need to cover that drive, and try to find a way to cover the fan area. As you can see; it's pretty old.
I love my Peak 610 Industrial system. Do you have any recommendations for ISA cards I could add for some pro functionality?
