does anyone know of an audio demo of a RAP-10's builtin GM synthesizer?
does any vogons users have one, could make an mp3 of an interesting midi file?

so your saying the sound from the rap-10 synth would be identical to this unit?
Roland-SC7-with-AC-Adapter.jpeg

unfortunately theres no sample/demo of that item on youtube either

err actually this one looks ok:

still its not a proper line level recording... but rather captured thru video camera mic

peter;
curious about your statement here:

When you have $ to burn buy boxed RAP-10s. Different versions of the retail boxes came with different MIDI diskettes. 😀

what does this mean? i thought sales + transactions were not permitted on vogons? are u saying u have one for sale on another site?
i dont understand why u would make an assumption about how much money i have... from me asking for a demo?? im confused

back on topic.
the SC-7 is 1992 technology..
from my info ive read.. the RAP-10 came out 1-2 years later.. after the release of the SC-55ST.. and around the time of the SC-50 + the SC88??

He isn't trying to sell you his, just pointing out you can try hunting a few on your own. Anyway, it's just an SC7 with digital sound capabilities. The RAP10, the SC-7 ISA card and the SCB-7 Wavetable daughterboard should sound the same.

PeterLI is particularly pointing out that you shouldn't just buy ONE boxed RAP-10, but that you should buy MULTIPLE boxed RAP-10's, because there's different versions of the package and specifically that there's multiple versions of the MIDI disk that comes with the package. 😉

again..of all the roland SC modules.. what makes both of you so certain that its exact match is an SC-7?
i pointed out that the timing in that thinking is off by about 2 years..

re: the different MIDI disks that come in the box.. 🤣 .. an interesting bit of information to some maybe.. but not particularly interesting to me.. i could care less what the midi files on the disks were id probably toss them in the garbage if i did have the boxes in front of me...and write my own music to test it out.

anyway - back to the original topic - if anyone knows where i can find a sample of the output of this card.. whether pre-recorded + existing in a video or mp3.. or if anyone here can generate one by playing a cool midi file
that would be cool to check out.. small 1min - 2min mp3?

i posted a video above of an SC-7 but like i said before its not recorded properly so is not a good demo

Professional musical gear doesn't get phased out or obsolete nearly as fast as other PC parts.
