Hi everyone,

So I was inspired by carlostex's rig a while back (Tex's ultimate 386 project!) and wanted to build a similar one for myself.

As it stands, I have almost all the parts I need to attempt my build, but I just realized something I was unsure of. For some reason I assumed that I could just plug the riser card that came with the case into the motherboard, and it should work... but it's been so long I honestly don't know if that's how it works, or if the motherboard itself has to be specifically designed for a riser card.

In this photo you can see the motherboard, case, and riser card... from a form factor standpoint it feels as though everything fits and should be compatible... but am I completely wrong in thinking the riser card will simply plug into one of the ISA slots and work in that fashion? http://imgur.com/a/TUVnt

The only documentation I've been able to find on the motherboard I have is here http://stason.org/TULARC/pc/motherboards/A/AS … -ISA-386U3.html which really makes no reference to anything about riser cards, so I'm confused.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You can just install the ISA raiser card and use it as pictured on any motherboard. It was supposed to be used on the slim desktop cases as there isn't enough space to install the cards normally.

Requests are also possible... /msg kixs

thanks and pardon my noobness... it's been ages since I touched this generation of hardware 😀
