Hi ,

I would like to ask you for advice , maybe you have solve already solve it.

I have got some 486 mainboards.

When I try to start them up , nothing is happening, no beep etc ( only keyborad is blikn for a second).

I have connected test card, and on one of them "restet" singnal is still on, on another reset signal is blinking.

The mainboard itself looks good, no leaks, no line breaks.

I have tried with diffrent CPU, RAM but nothing helps.

Do you have the experience what else I can check/do ?

Thank you in advance.

You don't mention if you tried more than one power supply. Based on what you said, that would be my suggestion.

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know.

You need to swap the ram and graphics card, if the result is the same you may need to figure out what is really causing the problem. 486 boards can be Really picky and no post at all with some cards yet those same cards work without issues with other boards.

Trust me you need to try another graphics card or two as I had to deal with this issue the other day, I knew the board had no problems but no beep and no post just like yours. Change the graphics card and go from there.

Get one of these, they are less than $5 including shipping from China. It often helps when trying to find out why boards wont post.
