I wouldn't be surprised, for that kind of money one can build a lot of rigs.

I think many hardware collectors are members here.

To me the price still seem cheap in the same way a Ferrary at half price seem cheap. Im not one of those spending that kind of money on single items.

*cough* RIPOFF *cough*

Things are only worth as much as people are willing to pay. I would not be willing to pay that for a device with such limited uses.

And to think I remember this sitting on the shelf of my local mom and pop computer store back in the 90's on sale cheap because no one wanted it.

That dont change it is useless over-biding! That item can be rare as pieces of the jesus toe nail, this way of biding is useless and at the limit stupid. It feel more like, ive nothing better to do with my time and my money. Biding in the begining serve nothing excep to overprice the item in question ...

I'm one of those dickheads who waits until there are 3 seconds left and then throws on my max bid, unless it has moved past the amount I want to pay already. You win some, you lose some and that's just the way life is.

I shan't be bidding on this though, if I had that much cash spare I could think of much better things to spend it on like new Hard Drives, synth gear or hookers.

See, now those need to be banned. On the other hand, a lot of them seem to just add like 5p every second remaining after I bid and I still win. Whether that's because people don't know how to configure them or they suck I wouldn't know, having never done it myself. They don't really change anything because your max bid is still your max bid no matter what, so really they just seem like added work for no real gain to me.

Also, as payback, everyone I've known who used one ended up getting phished by their little script kiddie toy they had downloaded. Karma is a bitch.

That's pretty much the only way to buy smart on ebay. Decide well in advance what is the maximum amount you're prepared to pay for the item, and place your snipe bid way ahead of the end of the auction. Bidding wars when the auction still has day to run are downright stupid and contribute to items being overvalued.

One word..... NO
Well. At least not that specific card on sale. Having an Gold would be nice, yes.
Just not at that price. It stupidly insanely high for what it is.
It's like asking 500 US Dollars for an GUS with nothing else than the card it self.

That's really what it is. It's like having a proxy in a real auction (which is quite accepted).
