I found a potentially cheap daughterboard - Opti 82c941 - on my local auction site. It seems I could get this card for about 15-25 USD, if everything goes according to plan.

It's a gerenric Opti card sold by "Trust" company as "16 bit wave upgrade module", including box, manual, etc.

Here are some photos of the card:

Unfortunatelly, I found no review.

And here's the link to the auction:

Do you think this module would be any improvement to my AWE32 CT2760 wavetable? Or should I get some better daughterboard?

I will surely get it.

But do you think it offers anything comparable to Yamaha daughterboards, or will it at least make any improvement to the way AWE32 sounds?

I'm not a typical collector really (or at least I'm really trying not to be 😀. I'm just trying to get the best out of my 486 experience, and this is my perspective. I just want some good daughterboard.

The EMU8000 on your AWE is a much much more advanced synthesizer. The OPTi board is one of the lowest possible quality boards one can get for General Midi music. Only get it, if you are into collecting these boards. But it is no match for the AWE. Yamaha, Roland or Korg boards sound just like from another world compared to this OPTi board 😒

^ yep, that's what I think of the daughterboard as well, a collector's item and nothing more

Nice, that's one I do not have for my collection yet. Buy it if you can, especially at that price.
