Hi folks,

i recently bought my very first IBM PS/2 machine.
Unfortunately the Floppy drive is not able to read the disks properly.
The drive itself gets recognized by the system and i also can enter to the A-Prompt and can also see whats on the disk with the default "DIR" command. But when i try to open up a text document or an executable i get the "Sector not found" message. I already opened up the system and it seems, that the read-write head just moves a little tiny bit up an down and thats it. Like a little twitch.

I'd really appreciate any kind of help.

Kay

PS: I am sorry for my english since i live in Austria 😉

Okay i found out that the caps are the problem... as usual
I already ordered new ones but i need a functioning floppy drive pretty soon. So my friend has got a unused drive from his Model 70 PS/2
Can i plug this one into my Model 50 without blowing something up? Both are 1.44mb drives.
