I tried it on two older 486 AMI bios and had two diff errors and neither was opened, thanks though ! Now I have versions 2.x thru 7.x

Hate posting a reply and have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. 🤣 Second computer a 286 12Mhz with real IDE drive ! After that came 386, 486, Pentium, P.Pro and everything after....

Are you referring to the DOS versions or the Windows versions of AMIBCP? The Windows versions are newer and don't work with the older AMI cores. We're looking for the DOS versions of AMIBCP for:

BCP14.EXE (for core BIOS 07/07/91)
BCP20.EXE (for core BIOS 12/12/91)
BCP21.EXE (for core BIOS 06/06/92)
BCP21A.EXE (for core BIOS 11/11/92 and 08/08/93)
WBCP33.EXE (for core BIOS 12/15/93 (and 06/25/94?))
WBCP40.EXE (for core BIOS 06/25/94 and 07/25/94)
WBCP42.EXE (for core BIOS 07/25/94)
WBCP511.EXE (for core BIOS 10/10/94)

They are DOS versions but the AMIBCP2 something I have did not run (think it is corrupt), got it long ago and burned to cd but never got it to work with any old BIOS files. And currently cannot find it in my stack o crap. Odd that after usenet sort of died (now full of mostly movies) those old apps mostly disappeared. The old DOS and WIn groups are basically dead....

If you find it, let me know, and I will try it out anyway.
Im interested to test your version anyway to see if I get any results with it.

If you can remember any sites that hosted it, you might find it on archive.org.
Thats where I managed to find a copy, albeit much laterversion.

Went through an old hard drive and found:
BCP7B12.ZIP - 07/26/1999 - AMIBCP - AMIBIOS Configuration Utility Copyright (C)1999 American Megatrends Inc. All Rights Reserved. Ver.7.00.B12
AMIBCP.ZIP - same as above
BCPCMD.ZIP - 06/07/1999 - AMIBCP - AMIBIOS Configuration Utility Copyright (C)1999 American Megatrends Inc. All Rights Reserved. Ver.7.00.B11
tool_8_RC1.zip - 3.48 MB collection of AMI tools, from 06/23/2005. AMIBCP.EXE here seems to be for Windows, v 3.13.

I doubt any of this is rare but I can upload it if needed.

Got from a source Amibcp 6.24 - word is it can open 1994/5/6+ 486 and p1 bios files
maybe someone will find it useful 😀

Hi keropi

Have you been able to open any BIOS files with that tool? I've tried a couple of 486 AMIBIOS ROMs from 1994/95 and I get "ROM Header not found !".

It works with bios cores from 95/96 not with earlier bios cores with later release dates. It opens quite well the 430fx bios from my aopen mobo. It does not work with Ami winbios for later 486 nor with earlier hi-flex cores.
