When using the XTIDE ROM you set the BIOS hard disk setting to None. I assume you're trying to break the 528MB barrier or add a large hard drive to a Non-LBA BIOS. What OS are you planning to run on your 486?

My first setup was choose "user type" (527mb), when XTIDE booted up, the launcher shows two HDD, the 527mb disk, and the real disk (8.4GB)... 😵

My system is a 486Dx4-100Mhz with 64MB RAM, 256Kb Cache, 1MB VGA video (integrated CL-5434), HDD 8.4GB

I really want DOS6.22+win3.11, but the FAT16 limit are a big problem, I choose to install win95osr2 😊

I asked about the OS because the problem with XTIDE and Windows 95 is that you get the dreaded "Drive C is using MS-DOS compatibility mode file system" and therefore slow disk performance, but there seems to be some workarounds for that.
