I mostly use the ISA ET4000 TC6100AF.

However there are also other chip revisions like the TC6058AF, TC6059AF, the ET4000W32/I TC6167AF, ET4000W32/i and ET4000/W32P (PCI). They definately have a different feature set, as seen e.g. in the VGA demo Copper by Surprise! Productions that requires a ET4000 TC6058AF to show effects as they are meant to be.

Is there a database of the various VGA fonts that have manifested themselves on this planet?

I tested some ISA-Cards for VGA-Signal quality and found a paradise-card that has a BIG font-set. never saw such a big font-set.
