I think it looks awesomme. How well does it match up to it's looks?
And is there anything special about it? Stronger vga output or anything like that?

Cannot quite make out all the markings on the picture.
Which W32 is this? The W32, W32i or the W32p?
I think you only got the W32 on an ISA card, but not the W32i or W32p.

The W32 is comparable in performance to a Cirrus Logic CL-GD5426.
Just take note that none of the ET4000 range of cards offered an integrated RAMDAC.
Regardless, the ET4000 range of cards were quite popular in their day.

My ET4000AX (ISA) card still runs quite well, but I have a comparable Cirrus Logic CL-GD5422 that has slightly better (and brighter) VGA output on an LCD screen.

According to this:

http://www.ebay.it/itm/Machspeed-VGA-1600s-Ts … ca/222224821322

The card is a W32i. I honestly did not know that there were different W32's in excistance.
What are the differences between them?

WDC Paradise WD90C30 cards are faster (in DOS at least). The ET4000 is a good card, but there's plenty of competition for it. Thing is, on a slow 486 or 386 machine, there's not much difference between cards. On a faster pentium, things change, but there you'd wand a PCI card.

As for output quality, Cirrus Logic cards have better output in general, especially noticeable when using LCD monitors. There's ISA CL cards that are slower, some that are just as fast and some that are faster. For ISA machines I usually prefer period correct WD Paradise cards, high-end CL cards (like the one I sent you).

Yeah...
I just thought that the card in the picture I posted, looked really cool. Looks special.
They just look so differently in design, compared to other ET4000's. 😀
And I thought, that it might have something to offer that other 4000's does not.

It does. It has better GUI acceleration in windows, and it should be slightly faster then the et4000ax - but that's about it. I wonder if the small heatsink is stock - it's most likely someone added it to the card as these are not really clocked high enough to get hot.

Hmmm.
Should I get one? To buy or not! (Thinking hard now)

A W32i is pretty nice for an ISA card, although 1MB seems low. Knowing you, you're not likely looking to overpay for this thing. Not a bad find for a reasonable price.

The difference between Cirrus Logic and Tseng (as far as I can tell), is that the 2nd megabyte on the W32i actually does something, whereas on the CL all it gives you is some horrible interlaced modes.

To bad this card can't be upgraded to 2MB where the W32i would should it's strengths - as Windows accelerator. In DOS there isn't even any improvement over standard ET4000AX.

Edit:
On a second look this card has basic W32 chip and it wouldn't increase performance with 2MB (only W32i and W32p do).

Basically speaking. One of the cheapest to be found on eBay, and a card that performs just as well as any other standard 4000. Wich leaves only the design to make it look a bit more modern in a way. 😀

I think I saw it for just under 300 Danish Kroners (100 is 15 US Dollars)

Just to clarify:

W32 (or W32i/p with 2MB) in DOS performs as good ET4000AX.
W32 in Windows with proper drivers it's an accelerator and it performs like 10-times faster then ET4000AX.
W32i (or W32p) with 2MB performs around 50-100% faster then standard W32 (with 1MB it's the same as W32).

We just need to make sure we are comparing the same types of interfaces.
If you are just referring to ISA based cards or just VLB based cards, then that makes sense, but one cannot compare the performance of an ISA based ET4000AX to a VLB based W32 and vice versa.
However, I don't think they released either the W32i or W32p on ISA boards (I'm speaking under correction), but I do think the ET4000AX also came out on VLB boards (at least, according to Wikipedia)?

I'm assuming the same bus for comparisons. W32i was definitely released on ISA bus with 1 or 2MB.

Yes the W32i has definitely been released for ISA Bus, because I own one. A Hercules Dynamite Pro 8 ISA.
