Tested this today and I can not understand why there is no FM (Adlib/OPL) playback on the right channel.
Anyone here that can confirm if this is right or wrong?

Hi,
the OPL2 Adlib FM music is played back on both channels. You you use the right driver for your chip revision (FF)?
Maybe there is a contact problem? Does it play back on one speaker also when you switch from line-out to speaker or vice-versa?

It has missing jumpers - it should have a jumper that sends midi to both channels if I'm not mistaking.

Should be the right drivers. I found the drivers on an ftp server, in a folder that stated this to be the right ones.
There are problems with the right one missing, using both speaker and line out.

Missing jumper? Hmmm... Do you have any information about jumpers on this card?

Good observation! Didn't spend the time looking closely enough! I agree, there is one jumper missing next to the one installed at the slot-side.

Unfortunately not, but it was common practice on some old cards to have jumpers for setting stereo/mono/single channel output, as well as enabling the amp, line in or microphone.

Looking at this, it seems like my card has jumpers the right place.

I think the drivers might be an issue. Do anyone know a place to source the right ones for me to try them?

I can confirm that the jumpers shown on my HP are set correctly. So it might be something different.

Here is a FAQ and some drivers: ftp://soporte.uson.mx/DRIVERS/AUDIO/mozart/AUDFAQ~1.HTM

SOLVED!!!
Oh my freakin..... 😳
I just purchased two cards that will not function propperly in a P-II-350 system. What gives?

I swapped the machine out for my 486 system, and behold, it works.
Running the Mozart Wavetable on a P-II-350 (Asus P2B-S), is just too fast a machine.

That applies to many cards. Speed sensivity - be it from hardware or from the software side. Looks like we have another card to add to this lists (just gives me an idea of creating such a list..)

It's not necessarily the P2 - it's most likely the motherboard.The non-opl4 Mozart I sent you runs perfectly on my Abit BE6-II (440bx) with a 333Mhz P2 overclocked to 500MHz.

Glad you figured it out. That mozart card is awsome. It has the Yamaha OPL4 wavetable synth witch not only sounds incredible, but is General Midi compatible so it will work in most games w/o issue. I've been hunting for that exact card for a while now - if it sounds half as good as my Yamaha SW20PC, it's definitely a keeper.

It does however have a not so nice high pitching sound in some of the soundeffect's. If you know it is there, you will hear it.
It's not bad at all. And moving the jack plug down into the line-out allmost removes it. Just not 100%

The OPL3 on the other hand.... Oh boy. Deep bass and sounds incredible. For OPL4 in MS-Dos. Well...
I don't know how to get that going. 🙁 I have a feeling that it is for Windows and not Dos.

Nope, the Mozart Wave tables OPL4 part is not compatible with DOS. DOS games only see the OPL3 part of the chip. The same applies to Miro PCM1 Pro and PCM10 OPL4 cards.

Ahhh..... That explains. Thanks. 😀

Hmmmm....
Should I do a recording of the different cards that I have? If so, it will not be the usual suspects (Doom, Duke3d, Raptor)
It will be some other games, that I think is a bit picky on cards. I do have a couple of different cards now.

- Tango 100. (Dream synth based, yes that company)
- AWE64-Value/Standard and Gold.
- A couple of Opti based ones.
- AWE32 CT-3900.
- Opti Mozart based.
- SB16 CT2910 and CT-2950.
- SB-Vibra16 CT-2980.
- Yamaha-YMF724.
- A couple of YMF-718 or 719 based ones (one is the usual Audician32)
- Media Vision Jazz16-based card.

This will not be a quick project, as some cards are in use in my build's.

Aaahh.. so you are the Tango man 😀

Well I would be indeed interested in different than the usual suspects recordings of the litte Tango Dream and its 512K sample ROM.

EDIT:
It was so nice to get original floppy with drivers and the original manual.
German is my 3'rd language, so I have no problems reading it. 😀

Nice to meet you here 😀
Although I spent some holidays in Denmark (København, Fanø, Møn..) I don't speak the language. I only understand it a bit.

Yeah... You never know who you are running into here on Vogons.
Those places are nice. Though I much more prefer the southern part of fuen.
In the summer time, the climate is warm and mild there.

Been to Germany a number of times. Two times in Berlin.
I have seen Blocksberg from the western part, when there were the iron curtain.
Then I have eaten lunch on the terrase of Hotel Petersberg when it was a ruin.
Walket around in the Alps, and seen the lake in Blaubeuren.
And a lot of other great places in Germany. Nice country.
