So my heatsink cage on my 478 broke, was using the P4 and suddenly it locked up and shut down, a reboot got to the spalsh screen then it frooze and shut down. I thought my ram so I went to pull the ram and noticed the heatsink hanging on by only one side, as one of plastic attach points for the 478 clip had busted off. Will a Zip Tie work as a solution to hold the heatsink down while I order another 478 heatsink mounting cage thing?

Well, as long as it keeps the heatsink in place, and the CPU cooled, I guess anything goes. Just be careful not to break anything else, those zip ties can exert considerable forces when you tighten them. Oh, and don't forget to apply new TIM 😀
