In advance I'll tell that this is not a "buy/sell" thread... I'm asking by curiosity.

Have you ever seen simm 72 pin or sdram (dimm) od RED (or eventually black) PCB....?

I've bought a beutiful, red pcb super socket 7 motherboard and I want to set up a red build with GUS Extreme, some red pcb graphic card etc... all in red 😀
The most difficult element is finding RAM... motherboard got both simm and sdram (dimm) slots...

Can anyone can help me with that?

Just as an idea... You can use heat spreaders like these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-SDR-DDR-SDRAM-C … d-/311592968142
they look more pink than red to me, but i don't think finding different colours is difficult.

@Jade Falcon Here goes photo from eBay auction - not mine - to be correct.

It's the only one red pcb socket 7 / super socket 7 mobo I've ever seen... also there is nothing about this specific model JDI5VG+... I've foud that it may be some revision of TMC AI5VG+ both look exacty the same - only pcb colour is different.

@GPA... I would like to match socket 7 time period (96'-99') as close as it is possibe... heatsink and other modding stuff are rather newer "inventions"... there will be (red) GUS Extreme and (also red) ATI Rage 128 pro from gigabyte AFAIK there where no red PCB GeForce 256 or RIVA TNT 2 Ultra or something like that - maybe you guys have any suggestions...
Black heatsing on CPU will look nice too on this mobo...

Once I've found out one the internet something like this:
https://www.downtowndougbrown.com/wp-content/ … 1/10/Bottom.jpg

but I don't know anything more...

Finally the package arrived! (much faster than I expected)...

So my "red build" for now looks like that:
Motherboard: TMC JDI5VG+ or AI5VG+
Sound card: Gravis Ultrasound Extreme
Graphic card: ATI Rage 128 Pro/Ultra 32mb...
CPU: K6-2 500 (will be K6-III or K6-2+ or III+ if plus versions are supported)

Still looking for RAM... @sprcorreia -pleeeease 😀 help... I don't want to do any tuning stuff, painting etc... only natural beauties... 😀

If you have any suggestion for other "time period" correct graphic card - I'm listening...

I´ve seen a DIMM SDR module on red PCB a few years ago, but it´s so rare!!

Pentium MMX 233@266| M537DMA | 48MB SDR | Trident 9685 4MB TVOut | Soundblaster 16
2x Pentium III 1000EB | CUV4X-D | 1,5GB PC133 | TNT2 Pro GA-660 | 80GB HDD | SB Live! 5.1
XP-M 2200+ | A7V600-X | 1GB DDR400 | Radeon X1650 Pro AGP | WD 80GB SATA

In my opinion, a black PCB would break the deal to combine colors.
If only you could use a Red Crucial Ballistix tracer (DDR2-800MHz). This module is fun, I tell you - Turns your computer in a space ship from Star Trek and the likes. Sixteen red leds are the eye candies.

My attempts:

Gold and Black - Asrock Z77, Corsair Vengeance, ZOTAC GTX 460, SB X-FI Fatal1ty with golden jacks
Missing: case and a good PSU (A blue corsair GS600 is way off).

Red and Black- Abit FP-IN9 SLI, Crucial Ballistix Tracer, EVGA 9800GX2 (out of order),
Cooler evercool sharks-HPD-815ELA, OCZ Fatal1ty 750W, Sentey BX2-4292 (case)
Missing: Gainward GTX 460

Red and green - PCCHIPS M810LR-H,
of course A PCB RAM is not a problem here, Geforce MSI 6600GT AGP (out of order)
Missing: Cooler with red and green LED (VCOM AMD XP 3000)

Your mission is tough, but almost there! Your GUS is a beauty ! Is it a Pnp version ?
Edit: GUS Extreme (must be extremely expensive) 😈 I envy you.

@Frasco - it's GUS Extreme (beauty indeend...and I manager to get boxed one 😀 It's the latest of all gravis soundcards so it fits the best time of this build...

I've gest contact to some company that may have / produce that kind of module... will see...

Mission is tough... I dream of red pcb geforce 256 or some cool Riva TNT 2... maybe one day 😉

I assume your Extreme version covers all those big classic GUS and then some...
I'm really happy with my wavetable gear, but curiosity is killing the cat!
I've heard samples and DOSBOX emulation and that's it.

As for the red PCB, I hope your provider do the trick, or else...

Stop believing... 🤣
I don't know. I think you are covered when it comes to GFX. You have 32Mb of VRAM.
Unless you want a baddest cooler.
Fact is Geforce 256 and RIVA TNT 2 Ultra in red aren't feasible. ATI is red.

Are you gonna play only games supporting GUS?
Focus on DOS games, Sound Blaster support and VESA VBE 1.2, 2.0 and 3.0 support, tweaks
and patches to perfect your games. Have a better one!

The GUS extreme has an ESS 1688 chip on board. It should do SB/SB Pro as well as the proprietary ESS 16 bit protocol.
