Downloads (executables and source code) are available at:

It's covered fairly well in a few ancient writeups, but I have found essentially nothing on it post-1996.

It appears to be an Interlnk-style client/server application with support for password-protected shares and parallel port redirection. The writeup also claims it would be trivial to include Windows 9X/OS2/Unix support.

dosrif.zip seems to be more recent and more fully-featured than dosrifs2.zip.

Huh. Well, that might work the necessary magic. Doesn't have the option of using the parallel port, that I can see (which is nice for the extra bandwidth), but then, I used to use INTERLNK a lot, and at 115200 it wasn't too bad most of the time.

Someone with enough time and energy could probably port the server potion to Linux or BSD without too much difficulty, since it doesn't look like most of the server bits really need to run as root.
