Fiddeling around with my Unisys, and it has this S3-805 onboard. I know that the S3-805 can be found as a VL-Bus card, so I am wondering if it is integrated on an VL-Bus or on the ISA bus. Is there any bullitproof way to figure this out?

Must be an easier way.... Running a program or something?
Not everyone has an oscilloscope you know. 😀

Maybe by benching your video card and then finding someone else that would use the same CPU as you did and has the VLB version of that card and compare the benchmarks

If it provides a linear framebuffer above 16M (probably if it provides a LFB at all) it must be connected through VLB or PCI. The reversal statement is not valid though.

I see... Thanks.
Can speedsys test this? Or do I need another program for dos, in order to check all this?
As for the chipset, I have these two chips: VIA-VT82C495 and VIA-VT82C481.
Following the traces, I am 50/50 on VLB or ISA. However, I have little experience in this.

I know that sometimes speedsys can bench the bandwidth of the VRAM. Maybe with some calculations you'll see if the ISA bus can handle the speed it will indicate or not. If it does, then it may be ISA. If it doesn't or that it's close to ISA's limitations then it's almost certain that it's a VL Bus card

UniVBE will tell you something about the framebuffer.

Cool... Thanks. 😀
