Having an issue with a P3 933 in an ASUS CUV4X Motherboard.

The P3 933 has a 133 MHZ FSB. On the Motherboard, I have set the Multiplier to 7.0X to get the processor to the proper speed. When I boot up the system, its reporting a speed of 812 MHZ on POST instead of the 931 it should be reporting.

I have the FSB frequency switches set properly on the board as well to 133 MHZ.

Anyone with this board or similar experience know what the issue could be?

Looks like the FSB is 115 mhz.

Maybe the Dipswitch is broken. Make a test and set the switch 5 to on, that would make 120 FSB. If the cpu is on 840 than you know dip 6 and 7 does not work. Or set is to jumperfree mode (JEN).

It pays to read....

I did some searching and read through the manual for the board...

The board (when it senses a new / changed processor) will auto boot in a "safe mode" running at only 66 MHZ FSB into the Advanced Menu of the BIOS. From there, you can Manually choose the Processor speed / multiplier if set to JumperFree.

I will have to set the swtiches to jumper free and then boot up that way and see if the 933 option comes up, which it should.

Check if motherboard has the newest BIOS available. Sometimes BIOS just incorrectly displays CPU speed on POST, but if you launch some of system diagnostic programs, everything is like it should.
