WELCOME BACK RG100! WOOOOO!!!!! 😁

Now on to business, chances are I actually have the paper manual hidden somewhere! I know I got 2 manuals of 2 different versions of this ISA controller, I will see if I can look them up. Hopefully they will be of the exact same card as yours.

edit: I actually do have the paper manual of the IDE PLUS-V3L-002 🤣!
I'll take a couple pics and upload them here, just give me a minute 😜

edit2:I'll just dump the pics here. Feel free to ask any questions, but the "manuals" were basically nothing more then small sheets of paper 😜

Argh...just noticed I forgot to take pics of the back side 🤣. Will add these in a minute as well 😜

The other 2 manuals are for the IDE PLUS-V4L and the IDE PLUS-V2 004, if anyone wants then, perhaps I should make some proper scans of them?
Hope this helps! 😀

I have a similar one with the Goldstar (LGS) Prime 3B chipset.

LGS Prime 3B.jpg

This is an 8-bit card, with only a floppy connector and ASYN connectors, but I've been unable the find the jumper settings for this one.
Nice card to use in an XT.

Never seen such controller card in a 8 bit version..

~ At least it can do black and white~

Another common use for a serial port was modems, so it made perfect sense to have more that one.
A CDROM should work on this IDE connector, but I HAVE come across similar controllers not working with ATAPI drives. So the answer is most probably yes, but it's not certain without confirming it in practice of from the manual.

i have one vlb card if im not mistaken is a goldstar prime 2c vlb, it was finicky with cd-rom being the master on the secondary ide channel, or even being slave, it only worked when i used it on the same channel as the hdd but as slave.
And it also didn't worked with every cdrom drive, i had to test 3 drives that i had laying around.

On the retronn link (http://retronn.de/imports/hwgal/hw_goldstar_prime2.html) there is shown a card AIO-200G-V3.00.

If someone has the manual for that one and/or knows the jumper settings, I'd be very grateful. It is the mystery I/O card I bought in April of this year, and I want to know whether it's possible to enable the game port only, to add a game/MIDI port to a system with integrated SB sound but no game port.

These chips only give base hardware and require no special drivers. Windows will see the IDE, floppy, COM, LPT and gameport without problems.

And I very much appreciate the scans of the manual earlier in this thread ~

Such a motherboard has an onboard SuperIO chip and all accesses to things like Floppy, COM and LPT get forwarded to that instead of ISA device. There's likely onboard PCI IDE and any access to the (primary) IDE goes straight to that and not to ISA bus. So end result is such a card isn't useful on a motherboard like that.

Tetrium, sorry for asking after almost two years, but could you please somehow upload that IDE PLUS-V2 004 manual? I just bought working 386 DX-40 mainboard, and the i/o card that came with it is exactly the IDE PLUS-V2 004 with Acer chip. It'd would be VERY helpful for me to have the user manual, since I have little to no experience in setting up such an old hardware.
Anyway, thank you for that posts and best regards!

I'm not sure if I have it, though I do remember that I had several of those paper manuals.
The only issue is that I currently don't know where these manuals are. I've been busy with a kinda a large project and I've been moving a lot of stuff around and a lot of stuff is now packed up.
So unless I happen to bump into it by sheer luck, it may take a while before you're no longer out of luck.

I'd take it you haven't been able to locate the manual elsewhere?

That is a limitation of the BIOS of your motherboard and not the IO card and its chipset.

Thanks again, anyway to check the limitation of the BIOS by a software?
It's Sega Teradrive (286 CPU) 😎

It is probably 504MBytes, if you can set CHS settings manually, otherwise it is whatever predefined settings the BIOS lets you use and those are rarely above 40MB on such old machines.

Hi - I've got this exact card and came across the following which seems to work perfectly with the 004 version:

Hope it's useful!
