Hi Guys, noob in the forum here.
I have a Epson ActionNote 866C notebook (A jewel with 66MHz Cyrix, 12MB RAM and 540MB HD) that I got from eBay, but with one issue: The floppy drive is gone (the reading head is completely destroyed - the head detached from the support and was damaged by the reading head path).
So, to my luck, this is a CITZEN WD1 floppy drive, very rare and uncommon to see here in Brazil as a spare part, so it`s being a nightmare to replace it. I have some questions in order to solve my issue?
- What you guys think about replacing this drive by another vendor? Its very common to see here in Brazil MUTSUMI / PANASONIC floppy drives that match the size available at my Laptop...
- If yes, how to specify one floppy drive? I mean, how to say if one floppy drive will be compatible with my machine?
Thanks a lot!
