I have a Tandy 1000 TL/3 with a Seagate ST01 SCSI card (Rev. 3.3) driving a Quantum 500MB hard drive. I've been trying to find a Tandy 1.44Mb floppy drive to replace the stock 720Kb drive that came with the machine but because the Tandy floppy drives require power to be supplied through the ribbon cable I've had no luck in getting one so I decided to just replace the floppy drive with an Insite 3.5" Floptical drive. My question is, since the ST01 has a BIOS, will it drive the Insite drive and even allow me to boot from it? If not, can anyone recommend a card that will? I've read a few posts where people have recommended the Rancho RT1000B and Trantor T128 with a BIOS chip on it but those are just as hard to find as the 1.44Mb drive. The few 8 bit SCSI cards I've managed to find on fleabay are either too expensive or don't specifiy whether or not they contain a BIOS chip. I'd appreciate any help on locating what I need.
