Have a Pentium 4 1.4 GHZ proc lying around and thinking of doing a year 2000 build with it. Only missing the most important part, the Motherboard.

Have everything else for it after digging around, so looking for recommendations for a motherboard I could pick up to complete the build...

Definitely i850 with RAMBUS.

yes, don't go with SDRAM for this platform,
I think most motherboards with the 850 should be OK, even the Intel ones, if you don't OC are fine.

I think the Asus p4t is fine and relatively easy to find!?

Good luck finding a SDRAM mobo for a P4 that early... A Y2k p4 build has to deal with the terrible d850gb and it is going to be a masochist build by the time you're done, along with the other period correct pieces (Geforce2/Radeon7200, Win2k/ME, SBLive 5.1). 😀

I have an HP Duray Rev 1.03 Board I found in my stack of boards

Don't know much about it outside the Intel 865GV Chipset??

Don't know how the internal case connectors go either on the board..

Anyone know anything about this one?

That... sounds like a socket 478 board.

Wait, is your P4 1.4 the s423 or s478 one? Everyone here (including me, initially) is assuming you're talking about s423.

S423 flavor came out in 2000, S478 flavor came out in 2001, and i865GV came out in 2003. So for a year 2000 build we naturally assume S423.

Intel Pentium M 1400MHz 321
Intel Celeron 1400MHz 302
Intel Pentium III 1400S @ 1400MHz 301
Intel Pentium III 1400 @ 1400MHz 297
Intel Pentium 4 1400MHz 127

Is this too much voodoo?

Your options are essentially i850, i845 (with SDRAM), or P4X266 from VIA (DDR). There might be others, but these are most common.

Asus P4T.

i850 chipset, 4 RDIMM slots, AGP Pro.

Not sure how easy they are to find. I just got one new in box a few weeks back, there should be a few alternatives floating around.

Crimson Tide - EVGA 1000P2; ASUS Z10PE-D8 WS; 2x E5-2697 v3 14C 3.8 GHz on all cores (All core hack); 64GB Samsung DDR4-2133 ECC
EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3; EVGA 750 Ti SC; Sound Blaster Z
